Laser x laser tag review
Hi guys and welcome to my laser x laser tag review.
I purchased the laser x gaming set months ago and have continued to enjoy this two player gaming set with my son. As such I have decided to write a review and also created a short, hopefully fun video on the laser x featuring myself and my son !
Please see video here ( there is a scene in slow motion where i get shot in the eye with a nerf gun 🙁 )
Laser x video review
If you enjoyed watching the video please like and subscribe to my son Tristan Paul channel where you can find gaming and all kinds of fun videos for kids and even adults 🙂
If you want to know what equipment I used to film the video, it was a go pro session 5 and the software I used to edit the video was filmora.
What is the laser x
Laser x is an electronic laser tag game designed for kids and some adults like me !. Inside the box you will receive 2 blaster guns attached to a body strap which has a sensor. The sensor will be positioned on or below your chest.
Unfortunately there is only one sensor, so unlike the big chains of laser quest e.t.c, you will only be able to shoot in one position (chest area) but still rest assured your kids will love them !
The single page instruction manual covers the very basic functionality of the unit. It gives you all the information you need to get playing as well as some tips which we’ve transcribed here:
- Very bright sunlight will decrease the laser blast range.
- Indoors, laser blaster beams can be bounced off walls and mirrors to hit your opponent.
- You can blast through windows.
- Turn off your Laser X gear when not in use. Leaving it in any of the team settings will drain the batteries.
The best way to load the laser x gun
Please see as demonstrated by my son in the laser x video 3 alternative ways to load the laser x gun. Difficult for me to explain in words 2 of the techniques. However, the one that I use is to hold the gun down facing the floor for 2 seconds then pull up and 9 times out of 10 you get the ching ching sound to confirm that the gun has been reloaded.
Pros and Cons of Laser x
- Provides a similar experience to laser tag arenas / facilities, but of course more cost effective over time.
- Light weight and durable
- Safe and fun for kids to play
- Having a two player gaming set and potential for unlimited number of players
- Can shoot up to 200 feet
- Play indoors or outdoors
- Requires 6 AAA batteries (not included)
- Cannot see any shots fired or a laser beam
Final thoughts on the laser x tag set
Having owned the laser x for about 5 months and seeing the bashing about it has endured I am surprised that it still functions. The durability of the blasters as a whole is excellent. Not only is the game safe its great to get the kids outdoors doing some form of exercise.
I am a 100% percent behind the laser x and cannot see any reason not to buy it unless there is an alternative better laser gun out there, which I am currently unaware of ?. No doubt, due to the popularity others will surface soon and I look forward to that with my son.
Accuracy is great and the vests are not uncomfortable and stretch well. The constant bleep noise of the gun came become fairly annoying, but in the midst of the battle the adrenaline can take over !
If you are still indecisive then please take a look at my son’s laser x review if you haven’t already, on you tube. Thanks for taking the time to read my review on the laser x tag 2 player gaming set.
Please feel free to leave any comments regarding your experience with the laser x !
An enjoyable and cost effective alternative for playing at home. Good quality and fun for the kids and adults
